This add-on is a Fixed and Enhanced version for Anki25+ of the addon "nbspRemover", originally created by Matthias Metelka (kleinerpirat) and credit goes to them.
How to use
- Automatically removes
after adding a card. (Replaces with space) - Batch remove
from all decks from the Add-on menu. (Replaces with space)
Option
Show tooltip.
- Enables or disables the display of tooltips.
Auto Run Startup
- When Anki is launched, it autruns a bulkremove from the collection, this function is only run once a day. This option is disabled by default.
Purge Shortcut
- You can change the shortcut key for Purge to whatever you like. (Purge Collection from nbsp;)
Search Query
- This is an option for advanced users, you can use regular expressions to remove strings other than nbsp. (e.g.
|ඞ) This option is disabled by default. - ⚠️ If you don't know how to use regular expressions please don't use this option, if you set it incorrectly there is a possibility that your note data will be deleted unintentionally.
- According to comments on AnkiForums some users have reported that
cannot be replaced in the new Anki, but that usingu00A0instead works. But I haven't encountered this problem andu00A0doesn't replace anything, so it may depend on the device.
Notes
- This add-on replaces all notes in the deck at once. So far no problems on my device but if you're concerned I recommend backing up all your decks before using this.
- Removing all nbsp may cause the layout of some cards to break. (That's why the official Anki has this function built in.)
- nbsp is removed in Add Editor not while editing the card, but after adding the card.
- If there is special text, it may not be replaced correctly. If so please send me the text of that card.

📥 How do I install this add-on?
- This add-on works with Anki for desktop (it does not work on mobile). Download Anki from the official website if you haven't already.
- Copy and paste the add-on code (
1998029342) into Anki and you can install it. ( Menu -> Tools -> Add-ons -> Get Add-ons -> Code [ add-on code ] ) - When I develop bug fixes, create new features, or compatibility for New Anki, I will notify you and you can install it.
